Unlimited data plan removed without consent upon getting a new SIM

Got a new Lumia 950 XL this weekend, upgrading from a Lumia 1020. The original SIM didn't fit, so I went to the AT&T store to get a new SIM. Was able to connect yesterday afternoon but got messages this morning and this afternoon saying I've exceeded my data limit. Looking at the confirmation mail of my visit for the new SIM, it says my data plan was removed. The store representative didn't mention anything about this at all. How do I get it back asap?

Just received a couple "Message not found" texts from Unknown.  Was wondering if I was missing text messages and how to retrieve them if so. It was not part of a group thread so I believe that it was from one individual.

I am receiving group texts, but I do not get everyone's response.  I think it is the original sender that I am not getting.  My phone?  Network?  Or is it a setting on the senders phone?

Port Google voice number over to Existing ATT wireless phone line

Hello,

Is it possible to port over a google voice number to replace a number existing on my wireless family plan. All lines have grandafathered unlimited data. My main concern is that when porting over the number from Google voice over to one of my exisitng number's on ATT will I loose my data plan.

 

What options will I have to change the number on my ATT account without loosing Unlimited data

At the same time last year I purchased from my local AT&T Store a new IPhone and a new IPad under the "Next Program". A year later I find out that I can upgrade my iPhone to the new IPhone but the I pad purchased under the "Next" Progrm is not eligible for the upgrade to the new IPad-Pro. I was told the the IPad Next Program is really just a payment Installment program and I paid full price! I believe that if AT&T is selling IPads under the "Next" Program they should honor the promise to the customer and alow them to trade up to the new IPad Plus until they change the name to IPad Payment Installment Program. I could have purchase the iPad with a credit card if I wanted payment installments and possibly received a $100 or more in store gift cards. I am a long time AT&T customer but if they do not make good on their promise and upgrade my iPad to the new iPad Pluss that is going to change very quickly. I believe the consumer is being mislead selling the IPad under the Next Program when there really is no such opertunity to trade up to the latest device. I am told that my only option is to pay off the balance of my current IPad Air-2 128gb and buy a new IPad-Plus and of course at full price! Scam? I am working with the Better Business Bureau to rectify this issue. I was connected with Mr. Phelps from AT&T Office of the President who offered me no resolution and told me that they have no plans to change the name of the IPad Next Program to an IPad Payment Installment Program. All I can say is check it out for yourself, Beware, and spread the good word.

when i first activated my go phone account, i was told that if i was to use the wireless hotspot feature on my phone that my account would be de activated.  is this still true?  earlier this year there was a post stating that the go phone plans now allow you to tether.

Texting issues after porting number in.
So, I am in a little bit of a situation.

I have a plan with ATT right now and it used to have a different number. I had a number from Google Voice that I wanted to port in a become my normal number. So I call the port number and give them all the details and within 24 hours it was done, so i called to have them replace my current number with the number i ported in so that would be my new number.

This is where something went wrong. Before, when I had the old number I could send texts just fine to anyone. Fast forward to when I port my number in and replace, and I can no longer send anyone texts. They send, but the recipient doesn't receive them. And I don't get theirs either. I have tried two different phones and still nothing.

It gets even worse, I call ATT to see if they can help and one of the kind reps tests it with his personal phone. I receive the text, he sends the ATT Text with a link to the app...I get that to. I try it on my other phone and nothing. Since it was thanksgiving and I couldn't be bothered with going, I went today.

I go in today and the person helping me does everything he can, including messing with the APNS(One Plus Two is the device) and he gets messages and can send them to me with no problem. He has an iPhone so he gets someone else's device, an S5, to test and low and behold, it works. I go back home and I text my friend and he tells me he hasn't gotten it. I try my wife's device and the phone doesn't get it. I tried sending it from her phone and nothing, so I am back to square one again.

My last option is going to a different store to see if they can help. Is there anything else that I should try?

The following is what I tried.

Changing APN's
Changing SIMS (Replaced)
Changing Devices
Reboot
Factory Reset.

Nothing has worked.

I turned my kids data off because they went WAY over, shut them off for 4 days when the new billing cycle starts. They say they don't have service now? They don't receive txt messages & they have iMessage off so it should at least have regular service. Help?!

Texts sent to random messages

Was responding to a message that was sent to me earlier today on my Samsung S6 active.  The message that I replied to was one of my contacts, but the message was delivered to some random number -- that is, not one of my contacts.  The person that received this message said it was an on-going issue for him and he often receives messages from people he doesn't know.  

 

Later, the same thing happened with my husbands phone (same model).  He was responding to one of my texts and it was sent to a different random number.

 

So, how do we keep from sending message to random numbers?  

Cannot send pictures in Messages from ZTE Maven to iPhone4S

My daughter has a new ZTE Maven (not on prepaid).  She cannot send pictures she has taken to  an iPhone.  She has tried to send to my 4S and to a friends 5.  It just keeps saying it is sending, but never does.  I was able to send a picture from my 4S to her Maven, but it took well over 30 minutes to do so.  We were both connected to wifi at the time.  Could it be some settings are incorrect?  If so, what should the settings be for the Maven?

Whenever I'm in a group text my phone runs slows and for some reason all the text messages won't come through. I've tried restarting my phone, turning it off for a few minutes, and even took the battery out for a few and it doesn't help. Is there anything else I can do?? Its very aggravating.

I have been with att since 2004. And it's a shame that I will probably leave because I can not get my unlimited data plan back. About 2 months ago I purchased the note 5 through the next plan. I am personally not a fan of the idea, but I needed a new phone and money is tight these days so I said why not. Unfortunately the phone had a couple issues with the Spen feature. I bring it in to the att store I got it from and that's when it started. One issue I had with the phone was a constant notification telling me the pen was detached, Even though the pen was in its slot. He told me bc he could not physically see anything wrong with it, then he couldn't do anything for me. As soon as he said the the phone sent a notification saying the pen was detached.so I then ask for a explanation as to why it keeps sending that notification. His words to me were, it is supposed to do that. But could no explain as to why it would do it with the pen in the slot. Another issue was it would not write on the screen while it's off. When I figured out I was not getting anywhere I then left. I then called customer service and explained the same thing. They transfer me to warrant dept. And they send me a new phone.
A few weeks goes by and I'm going over my bill to see where I can save some money. I was grandfathered into unlimited data plan and there was no way I would go to a data plan. On that plan for some reason we had 3000 talk minutes a month. By the end of every year we had at least 50,000 rollover minutes. A big portion of the bill was because of the 3000 minutes we were paying for. Well of course you can't make any changes to the old plans.so I go into a different store than last time. And when he open my account he gives the same reaction I get every time. A surprise look followed by him asking why is yall bill so high? I explained that I was hoping there was something that could be done to lower it. Now, for some reason no matter what I went into a att store for, I got the same nagging about switching over to a data plan. I almost think they might get a small bonus for ever account they took off the unlimited plan and put on a data plan. I feel that was because this happen every single time I would go in
And even though I'd say no. They would keep pushing the issue.
So of course the only way to save money on my bill was by switching to a data plan. Now after looking over the numbers he tells me by switching over to the 25gb plan, I'll see a $80-$100 difference in my bill. After letting him talk me into it I agreed to it. He also told me that I had 30 days to go back to my unlimited plan if I didn't think it would work. At this time att was offering the free tablet and told me it wo u kd only be $10 more a month Well now that I'll be saving some money I'm all for it. Since then my bill h as not went down, it has only went up. And that $10 a month turned into $20 a month.
After about 20 days into this new data plan I realized it was not going to work out. So I go i% att wanting to swap back. Well she tells me that she can't do it because it was pass the time I had to swap it. When I told her that the guy before told Me I had 30 days, she stopped me and said she was sry because i only had 15 days not 30. Since that day I felt stuck and there is nothing I can do about it. Well this bill here will have about $150 extra added to it from going over the 25gb plan I'm on. I have even sent emails about this. A couple days ago I called customer service back bc all of a sudden we going threw data unbelievably fast. For almost a week now, I get a text from att saying we went of the 1 gb that they so generously add to your bill weather you like it or not. Within those several days i have been charge for 7 or 8gb. Now im very aggravated because if i wasnt lied to i would not have this problem. Well this lady now tells me that once you switch you plan you can't change it back. So I have been told 3 different things by 3 different att employees. That just burns me up even more. Well I ask to talk to who ever she can transfer me to that is higher than her. After explaining everything I've been through she was very understanding and she did say that there is in fact a 30 day grace period to switch back to my old plan. So if the the Second person Knew her job I would have had my unlimited back a long time ago and not have to worry about the $150 extra that will be in my bill. She apologize several time and gave me high hopes. Unfortunately the final decision was left to someone else bc I got a text saying they denied my requests to change my plan.
Can someone tell me how this is my fault? I just don't understand why I have to be punished because I was told the wrong information. I don't know who else I can talk to about this. I do know one think, if this can't be fixed I'm walking away from att. The countless phones we have bought and thousands of dollars spend over the last 12 years means nothing to att obviously. Is it or just me when I said the sale person would try to suckered you in tons witching from unlimited to a data plan? Who else think the employee may get some kind of bonus if they were able to get a customer to s witch to adata plan.
Well att I will be call in a few hours and I have my fingers crossed hoping someone van help me. Just a few tips I have for att. It's just a couple things that I feel att need to me better at to be a better all around company. First thing is to do better at training your employees. Most of the time they have no knowledge about the products they are selling. I normally do my research before I buy any phone. But it always amuses me how they are just winging it. Another thing, customer loyalty. I'm not asking for free stuff every time i call. Show the customers that been here over 10 years a little better service that's all. I guess I'll go start searching other providers because I have a feeling i won't ever see that unlimited plan ever again.

Can't enable AT&T Messages for second line on tablet

Recently, I enabled AT&T Messages backup on my LG G3 and then put the Messages app on my PC and Samsung tablet. Works fine. Syncs perfectly for whatever I do on phone, tablet or PC.
So I tried to do the same for my wife's HTC One (M7). First, I had to download the AT&T Messages app to her phone and set it up as the default texting app. No problem. It's very similar to the native messaging app.
Then I downloaded the AT&T Messages app to her Nexus 7 tablet (now on Marshmallow) and it asks me to sign in to my AT&T account. As soon as I do, I go to the next page that tells me they will send a text to my "default" phone number, which happens immediately. But it's MY number, not hers, and there's no way to change it. Went through with the setup and sure enough, all MY texts are sync'd to her tablet.
Spent a long time on the phone with AT&T tech support, they didn't have a solution and pointed the finger at Google. I checked, and since the HTC One was previously my phone, the Google account was set up in my name. I changed that, signing in with my wife's Google account, uninstalled everything and started over from scratch. Still didn't help. Same problem, the AT&T Messages app only recognizes my phone number.
On the AT&T website, the page that describes AT&T Messages has a list of smartphones that have the ability to use AT&T Messages backup built in.

My phone, LG G3 is on the list. My wife's HTC One (M7) is not on the list, but the app from Google has been downloaded to her phone and has been set up as the default messaging app as instructed.
Does all this mean that the syncing will not work if the smartphone is not on the list?
Or am I overlooking something in trying to set up AT&T Messages for my wife's HTC One on the Nexus tablet?
Any ideas will be appreciated.


HTC One M8 only receiving texts part of the time

I have an HTC One M8 and its seems that sometimes when people text my, whether they have Apple or Android, their text won't come through. Sometimes they have to send three times before it will, and other times it works fine. I've tried clearing messaging cache from settings, cache partition clear, and master reset. Help please!!

Switched Carriers, Email to Text Problem

Basically, I'd like to forward 1112223333@txt.att.net to 1112223333@vtext.com (for example).

 

I switched carriers away from AT&T a year ago, but I still have some services sending emails to my previous number ##########@txt.att.net (I kept the same number when switching carriers). I'd like those to be forwarded to ##########@vtext.com instead now. What can I do? I have a primary email account with no backups (besides my phone's email to text address) and I forgot its password.
